Travelling with your own vehicle
From Johannesburg Airport approx. 450km
- From Johannesburg Airport, follow the R21 towards Boksburg
- Then take the N12 in the direction of Witbank/Emalahleni
- in Witbank/Emalahleni this highway changes into the N4
- Leave the N4 onto the R540 at Belfast/Dullstroom
- follow the R540 via Belfast and Dullstroom to Lydenburg/Mashishing
- in Lydenburg/Mashishing change to the R36
- follow the R36 via Ohrigstad in the direction of Hoedspruit/Maruleng
- approx. 15 km before Hoedspruit/Maruleng, turn right before the bridge over the Blyde River
- after about 3 km, turn right onto the gravel road – a photo of the turn-off can be found on Google Street View
- then follow the signs to the “Canyon Game Reserve“
- after a while you will reach a gate – tell the security guard that you want to go to number 16
- Continue until you reach our coordinates
Pick-up service after domestic flight to Hoedspruit/Maruleng
Alternatively, you can take a domestic flight from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit/Maruleng. We can then pick you up from the airport in Hoedspruit/Maruleng. The subsequent journey time to the lodge is then about 45 minutes.
